The short version.
- No analytics, no advertising pixels, no trackers of any kind on this site.
- The only information you actively give us is what you type into the contact form.
- We have never sold, rented, or traded personal information, and we will not.
- Ask us to delete what we hold and we will.
Who we are
Sipp Vodka is a vodka and ready-to-drink cocktail brand made in Prince Albert, SK. This policy covers sippvodka.com and sippvodka.ca, and explains what happens to your information when you use either.
If anything below is unclear, email hello@sippvodka.ca and ask. We would rather rewrite a paragraph than leave you guessing.
What you give us
The contact form is the only place on this site where you type information about yourself. It asks for your name, your email address, an optional business name, the topic of your message, how you would prefer we reply, and the message itself.
That submission goes to Netlify, who host this site and process its forms, and lands in our inbox. We use it to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter to be added to.
What your browser sends automatically
Opening any website tells the server something about you, and this one is no exception. When you request a page, our host keeps a standard server log: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time.
Those logs exist to keep the site online and to catch abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not connect them to anything you send us through the form.
What we never do
No Google Analytics. No advertising or social media pixels. No fingerprinting. No retargeting you across the internet after you leave.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone, including data brokers, marketers, and insurers. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens rather than after.
The one exception to keeping your information to ourselves is a lawful order from a court or regulator, and then only what the order actually requires.
The age gate
The first time you arrive, you confirm you are of legal drinking age. Your answer is stored in your own browser under the key sv-age-ok so the question is not repeated on every page.
That value never leaves your device, it is not a cookie, and it tells us nothing about you. Clearing your browser data removes it and the gate returns.
The map and your location
The stockist map on Where to Buy is built with Leaflet, and its map tiles come from CARTO. Loading that page makes a request to CARTO's servers, which means they can see your IP address the same way any image host would. What they log is governed by their terms, not ours.
If you press Use my location, your browser asks your permission first. Your coordinates are then used inside your browser to sort the stockist list and centre the map. They are never sent to us, never sent to CARTO, and never stored anywhere.
Other services your browser contacts
Typefaces on this site load from Google Fonts, and the mapping library loads from Cloudflare's public CDN. Both see your IP address when your browser requests those files, because that is how requesting a file works.
Neither is used to track you. If you would rather not make those requests, a content blocker will stop them. Blocking the fonts leaves the site fully readable in a fallback typeface. Blocking the CDN will stop the stockist map from loading.
How long we keep it
Contact form submissions stay in our inbox and in the Netlify forms dashboard for as long as they are useful, and we clear out old enquiries periodically. Server logs are kept by our host on a short rolling window and then discarded.
If you want your message deleted sooner than that, ask and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent for us to keep it at all.
Email hello@sippvodka.ca or use the contact form. We respond within 30 days and usually much sooner. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Legal drinking age
This site is intended for adults of legal drinking age, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone below it. If you believe someone underage has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date beside the contents list changes with it. Anything material will be described plainly rather than buried in reworded paragraphs.
